Let’s take out time for our children

‘ My child is 7 years old, whenever he indulges in any kind of activity be it painting, cycling, reading books etc, he gets bored very easily. How can I keep him involved in those activities. What can be the solution to this problem?’

The developing years of a child are very crucial. The emotional, social and physical development of young children has a direct effect on their overall development. That is why understanding the need to invest in very young children is so important, so as to maximize their future well-being. This article also highlights the do’s and don’ts which are to be followed by the parents .

Here are a few tips on how parents can take out time for their children

  1. Schedule time for doing an activity of your child’s choosing. Be sure to follow through and complete the activity without any distractions.

2. Turn off technology when you spend time with your child. Try not to text, answer calls, scroll through social media, or watch television.

3.Play with your child– even if it’s during bath time or outside before you drop her off at preschool. Every little bit of time makes a positive impact.

4.Create a special ritual for you and your child—something that can be done every day. For example, let your child choose and read one book with you at bedtime.

5. Make and eat meals with your children whenever possible–  If time is limited, look for simple meals that require very little preparation, or grab a healthy snack such as an apple and sit for a few minutes and chat with your child.
